Taking a Leadership Role in an Online Meeting

Date:

Thursday, May 21, 2020, 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Location:

Online via Zoom

A leader inspires action in others, and you don’t have to be a manager to fill this role. The leader sets the tone for the meeting, is inclusive, and manages different personalities with respect. Are you a natural meeting leader? In part 3 of this 3-part series, Jill Slye, Instructor at Harvard University Extension School, will discuss how to lead a successful online meeting with a leadership "frame of mind." This includes:

  • How to approach interactions with empathy, maintain open lines of communication, and encourage interaction by creating a safe place.

  • How to manage the audience.

Please note: Previous workshops in this series are not a pre-requisite. Participants must be able to connect to the workshop with video and audio using Zoom. This workshop provides no technical training. We highly recommend you take the Introduction to Zoom workshop with the Harvard Ed Portal as a pre-requisite.
