The Ed Portal works with partners in the community and across Harvard to provide Allston-Brighton residents with programs that promote a healthy body and mind. In addition to events and programs available at the Ed Portal, members can access recreation offered by Harvard including gym memberships, Blodgett pool access, and athletics camp scholarships!

Virtual Harvard Recreation Memberships

Harvard Ed Portal members are eligible to apply for a discounted online membership to Harvard Recreation. This membership includes access to a variety of live, virtual group exercise classes. The Fall 2021 membership is available for September 1, 2021–January 15, 2022.

Allston-Brighton Bike Workshops

Working with Allston-based nonprofit CommonWheels, the Ed Portal hosts bike workshops throughout the year offering everything from Learn to Ride programs, basic maintenance, and safety skills.

Access to Harvard's Blodgett Pool

In partnership with Harvard University Athletics, Ed Portal members receive free access to Harvard's Blodgett Pool with their membership card. Present your card at the Murr Center front desk, at 65 N. Harvard St., Allston, then dive in! Please note: Due to COVID-19, no in-person usage of any Harvard facilities is available at this time.

Yoga Series

Yoga Class

Whether you have been practicing yoga for many years, or if you have never even tried it, the Harvard Ed Portal’s Yoga Series offer participants of all skill levels the opportunity to experience mindfulness and relaxation. Classes are free and open to all, including those who are not members of the Ed Portal.

Harvard Athletics Scholarships

The Harvard Ed Portal, in partnership with Harvard Athletics, offers scholarships to a variety of summer athletic camps to Ed Portal youth members. The scholarsips vary by age level and sport each year and are awarded based on lottery systems.

Harvard Pool

Swim & Dive Scholarships

Limited scholarships for the swimming and diving program are available every fall and spring. Courses are offered for a variety of levels and are taught by members of the Harvard swimming and diving teams, under the supervision of the varsity coaching staff.
