Eligible: Students aged 3-16 who live or go to school in Allston-Brighton. No prior theater experience is needed. Weekly classes are offered for ages 3-4, 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, and 14-16 years old.
What: Designed and led by teaching artists from the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), each week will feature a mix of storytelling, movement, performance, and crafting activities meant to introduce theater skills, and awareness of the actor’s toolkit: body, mind, voice, and imagination.
Where: As the American Repertory Theater plans its move to Allston, all Spring 2023 classes will take place at the Harvard Ed Portal (224 Western Ave., Allston). The final weeks of A.R.T. Young Company and Teen Company will take place at the Loeb Drama Center (64 Brattle Street, Cambridge) for the classes' dress rehearsals and final shareformances.
Cost & Process: The scholarship covers the cost of the full cost of registration and materials for the series. Open to all eligible candidates regardless of income. The application process is simple and takes about 5 minutes.
