Tune In: An Intuitive Drawing Workshop

Date:

Wednesday, February 17, 2021, 7:00pm to 8:15pm

Location:

Online via Zoom

Need some healing this winter or a creative reboot? Learn how to use art as a tool to move through emotions, decompress, and connect with the imaginative process (rather than product). In this hands-on Zoom workshop, participants will sample a series of exercises that spark creativity and deepen focus. Using guided meditation, journal prompts, "intuitive drawing"*, and community discussion, participants will tune in to their creativity and gain new methods for self-care, expression and introspection. Local artist Deborah Johnson will guide this art class designed for all experience levels and for anyone seeking more joy, affirmation, inspiration or connection.

Materials needed: Please bring paper, any kind of coloring tools (i.e. colored pencils, markers, crayons, or watercolors), and an open mind!

Age/Skills needed: No previous experience needed. Families welcome. Note: participants will need to be able to write and focus on one task at a time.

*What is Intuitive Drawing? Intuitive drawing is drawing, doodling, or sketching that is focused on the process of creating itself, rather than an end goal or vision for a finished product.
