LinkedIn: Advanced Profile Development

Date:

Thursday, November 21, 2019, 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Location:

Harvard Ed Portal, 224 Western Ave., Allston

You’re on LinkedIn, you have a profile—including an “About” summary—and now you're ready to take it to the next level! Join us for this advanced hands-on, highly interactive lab session where you will be guided through the process of building a stronger, more robust, and more targeted profile. For this session, you will need to bring your laptop and a hard copy of a job description to use to create a more targeted summary and headline.

While logged into your LinkedIn account, you’ll get to work on updating and enhancing your existing summary, adding more skills, plus selecting links and documents to show samples of your work. Our topics will also include how to position yourself when you are job hunting in your later career (60’s and beyond), making career transitions to a new industry or field, and dealing with gaps in employment.

Join us so you can take full advantage of LinkedIn, grow your professional connections, and open up to new opportunities.

Prerequisite: This is an advanced class. You must already have an "About Summary" section in your LinkedIn profile (at least 3 sentences), and you need to bring a hard copy of a job description to use as a target. If you are new to LinkedIn or looking for a class to teach you how to build your Profile, we recommend that you attend a session at MassHire before coming to this advanced class. Mastering The Basics is being held November 6 at 11:00am and November 13 at 1:00pm: http://masshiredowntownboston.org/events-calendar/
