    Brighton High School students: you’re invited to the Harvard Ed Portal to develop resume-worthy skills to prepare for summer internships and jobs!

    During four afternoons in January, Harvard students will lead sessions on the Microsoft Word and Excel skills employers look for. You will also have the opportunity to earn a certificate of completion, which will set you apart from other candidates.

    Fixit Clinic

    Bring your broken, non-functioning items including jewelry, electronics, clothing, and more to the Harvard Ed Portal for a Fixit Clinic! We provide the space, tools, and coaches to help you tinker, troubleshoot, and even fit your items. This is an all-ages, do-it-yourself event that’s fun and educational.

    Kids of all ages, tinker with abandon at the new “Take-Apart Table!” We will be dissecting computers, printers, toys, audio equipment, small appliances like fans, lamps, and more, under the competent supervision of experienced Fixit Clinic coaches.

Allston-Brighton students in grades 4–5 will create whimsical stacking sculptures that tell a story as they develop their clay skills, combining slab, coil and pinch pot methods. Works may be inspired by cultures throughout history, animal imagery, or imaginative creatures—the sky’s the limit! This four-day workshop will be taught by a skilled Ceramics Program instructor, Jenny Blicharz. Please note: this workshop is for Allston-Brighton residents and Gardner Pilot Academy students in grades 4–5.
